Are You Like A “Black Friday” Shopper?
Lessons in Network Marketing….
Here’s the deal, you’re not going to hear me bash black friday shoppers or even praise them or the whole idea about black friday in general, that’s not what this post is about. I myself have only gone once on black friday to shop, I gotta admit there were some really great deals…but I absolutely hated all the waiting and hustle and bustle it took just to get around and out of the store. So It doesn’t even appeal to me anymore.
There’s been so much talk all over the internet about black friday that it prompted me to write a post. No matter what your position on the whole thing, one thing you have to admit is that these people have an extraordinary kind of commitment.
What Network Marketers Can Learn From Black Friday Shoppers…
I mean let’s face it, to be online for hours at a time camped out in tents, risk the chance to get trampled, or hurt, means you’ve got to have a ridiculous amount of drive. Here’s what is a no brainer about these shoppers – they’re:
- Determined to be ahead of the crowd
- Motivated to get what they want no matter what the cost

As a network marketer I wouldn’t necessarily say that you need to be ahead of the crowd, but you do need to go above and beyond what others aren’t willing to do. That means being consistent in your habits that’s going to help you to get results and also to being committed to working your business long term.
I mean let’s face it, the reason why top producers are at the top of their company’s pay plan isn’t simply because they got lucky. There wasn’t some network marketing genie that granted them a wish in exchange for something else. It’s simply because they worked the hardest – period!
Motivation I believe is a concept that most network marketers struggle with all the time. Motivation is more than just encouraging yourself and reading books and listening to audios. It’s about surrounding yourself with family and friends who will also support and encourage you, & staying connected to your team and mentors that will not only motivate you but inspire you.
Lastly, in order to be motivated you must actively be involved in daily action that going to help you get closer to your goals. It’s important to be focused more on the activity rather than the actual result. When you’re tied to the result you’re more likely to lose motivation.
You see how these shoppers are out on the lines at 12am midnight – are you up strategizing, thinking about your daily game plan & implementing it and putting it into action? Are you excited when you wake up every morning because you have another day to impact someone elses’ life for the better? If not, then I’d suggest you start to do the activity that’s going to give you the drive like the “black friday” shoppers.

Yes Chante – they are definitely motivated (or crazy)! lol! I wouldn’t want to be part of that either – there are so many more things we can be doing to generate money that it would outweigh the money saved or the aggravation endured. Nice post!

Very cool how you compared black friday shoppers to marketers in positive light. With everyone bashing these bargain hunters, it is neat how you decided to think outside the box.

Love the pic of the mouse!
Yes, I can share that after 17 yrs of being full time you must be persistent and focused. I just got off the phone with a friend and had this same discussion. And one more thing, if you find yourself going down the wrong path with the wrong team or business…do not be naive with your persistence. Take how message: Change your plan if it is not working.

Great analogy Chante! It’s amazing how people can be so motivated in some areas their lives but lackluster in others. It’s just human nature, I suppose, but it can be frustrating to witness!! Thanks for sharing this blog post.

I agree Joe, the focus for dedication many people suffer from is in the wrong place. Thanks for stopping by!
